Vermont Chapter Speaker Series

The Vermont Chapter’s Zoom Speaker Series continues!

We are all aware that Penn State students study abroad and that there are many international students on campus, but do you know about all the other global programs that Penn State offers?

Join us on Wednesday March 3rd at 7 pm to learn about the global programs at Penn State.

Dr. Roger Brindley, Vice Provost for Global Programs will be presenting an overview of the program.  He will speak to Penn State’s global and international partnerships around the world.  As Vice Provost, he promotes Penn State’s comprehensive international strategy and works with senior administrators to guide Penn State’s international agenda. His responsibilities include securing funding to support Penn State’s international activities and programs as well as representing the University to external constituents worldwide.

Prior to his appointment at Penn State, Dr. Brindley had been vice president of USF World at the University of South Florida (USF), where he oversaw global engagement for USF and international student success initiatives for 5,000 students from 147 countries and for over 2,000 students completing academic experiences abroad, and 1,200 USF faculty conducting teaching, scholarship and research overseas.

As a professor at USF for 24 years, Brindley received the Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award as well as the USF President’s Award for Faculty Excellence. Identified as an Honored Professor by the National Society of Collegiate Scholars in 2001, Brindley served as interim dean to the College of Education, and as vice provost and associate vice president before taking the role of vice president for USF World, from 2013 to 2020.

Dr. Brindley has written numerous articles in North American and European publications on policy and practice in higher education, has served as editor for three international journals, and frequently speaks at international conferences around the world. In 2014, he was elected to the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) Commission on International Initiatives. In 2015, he was elected executive chair of the Commission and served in that
capacity until 2017.

We hope you will join us for the next speaker in our series!
